The 2018 CYC Soccer season begins late August/early September.
(See below for information about registration, ID cards, etc.)
1. If you are Catholic, contact the parish you are registered in. Youth teams are formed through your local Catholic parishes.
2. If you are non-Catholic, contact the Catholic parish whose boundaries you live within. Click here to use the Parish Finder. Then enter your home address to determine which parish that you reside within.
If the parish that you are registered in, or that you reside in, is unable to, or does not participate in the CYC program, please contact the District that your parish is in or contact the CYC Office at (314) 792-7256 for further information on placement of players on teams that are participating in the Archdiocesan program.
Soccer is played in the fall of each year. The season begins the weekend prior to Labor Day, and the regular season continues for 11 weeks. No matches are played on Labor Day weekend.
CYC Soccer is for 1st grade thru High School, boys and girls.
Boys Soccer is played on alternating Friday nights and Saturdays.
Girls Soccer is played on alternating Friday nights and Sundays.
No games on Sunday may begin prior to 12:00 Noon.
Parochial Soccer is normally played on weeknights.
Following the regular season, District Playoffs are held for 5th grade levels and above and determine the representatives from the South County District to the Archdiocesan Championships, which normally conclude in early December.
All players need an official CYC ID Card to participate in the program. You can apply for your card online.
You can find dates for upcoming live ID Card sessions here.
All coaches/volunteers must have completed the Archdiocese's Protecting God's Children Workshop, which is coordinated by the Safe Environment Program, as well as have a Missouri Background check done every two years, and have read, signed and returned to your parish the Code of Ethical Conduct.
These are Archdiocesan requirements that the Catholic Youth Council fully supports. You should contact your parish for details about these requirements and/or copies of the forms.
All Coaches/Managers, Kindergarten-8th grade, in the CYC-Sports program also need to have attended the CYC Coaches Training program, "Coaching to Make a Positive Difference". CLICK HERE to go to the online training course. This class needs to be completed prior to the start of your season, and all coaches completing the program need to apply online for their "Coaching Card" or attend a live ID Card session.
PLEASE NOTE: "Out of respect for the minor age players on our teams, the CYC Sports Department requests that all visitors refrain from publicly posting any videos or pictures of CYC sponsored events unless the visitor has the express written permission from the player's parents or the CYC Sports Department to do so. This includes but is not limited to online photo-sharing and posting videos to YouTube or similar applications."
